What we keep, and why
- Your account: your name, username, picture if you add one, how you sign in (Apple, Google or email), your home course and which side you swing from. We use them to show your profile and set the app up for you.
- What you post: the swing video, your words, the club, its traced flight and the course if you add it, plus comments, claps and who you follow. We use them to show your posts to the people your settings allow, and to make Clubface better (below).
- Links you send: a link to one swing that anyone with the link can watch, until you turn it off.
- Clubface Pro backups: your saved swings with their tracing and club path, so they’re on any iPhone you sign in to, and to make Clubface better (below).
- Purchases: Apple handles payment. Apple tells us only whether your subscription is active, which plan it is and when it renews. We never see your card.
- Notifications: a device token, so we can send the notifications you turn on.
- Your location: if you allow it, used to find golf courses near you when you pick your home course or add a course to a post. The app searches Apple Maps and our own list of courses with it. We use it only for that search and don’t keep it.
- Reports: if you report a post or a golfer, what you reported and why. A person reviews it.
- Email to support: your message and address, to reply.
What we don’t do
- No ads, no third-party analytics in the app, and no tracking you across other apps or websites.
- We don’t sell your data or share it with advertisers.
How your videos make Clubface better
- The tracing and the club path are worked out on your iPhone. We may also analyze swings on our servers, for example for coaching.
- Videos stored with us (swings you post, send by link or back up with Clubface Pro) are used to train and test the software that traces the ball, draws the club path and, later, coaches. People on our team may look at some of them to check the software’s work.
- Swings that are only on your phone aren’t sent to us.
- We train our own software. We don’t sell your videos or give them to other companies to train theirs.
- When you delete a video, it comes off Clubface and no one can watch it, but we keep a private copy, used only to train and test our software. Deleting your account deletes those copies too. To have them removed without deleting your account, write to us.
Who sees what
- Swings on your phone: only you.
- Your profile card: your name, username, picture, home course and follower counts can be seen by anyone on Clubface, so friends can find you. A private profile hides your posts, not these.
- Your posts, and the course on them: the followers you’ve approved, while your profile is private (it starts that way); anyone on Clubface if you make it public.
- Comments: anyone who can see the post, unless you turn comments off for it.
- A link you send: anyone who has it, until you turn it off.
- Golfers you block: they can’t see your profile or posts.
- Pro backups: no one else on Clubface.
- Our team: people at Clubface may look at videos stored with us to check the software’s work, review a report, or help when you write to us.
Where it’s stored
Accounts, posts and comments are kept with Supabase in the United States (Virginia), and videos with Cloudflare R2 in eastern North America. Everything travels over encrypted connections.
How long we keep it
- Until you delete it. Deleting a post takes it off Clubface at once; the swing stays on your phone.
- Deleting your account removes your profile, posts, comments, follows and links at once, your videos within 24 hours, and any copies kept for training within 30 days.
- When Clubface Pro ends, your backed-up swings stay for 30 days so you can download them, then they’re deleted.
- One exception: when you delete a video but keep your account, a copy is kept to train and test our software until you delete your account. No one on Clubface can watch it, and it’s used for nothing else.
Your choices
- Make your profile private or public, in Settings.
- Turn comments off on any post, and delete any post.
- Mute, block or report any golfer.
- Download your data, or delete your account and everything with it: Settings, Account.
- Turn location and notifications on or off in your iPhone’s Settings.
Children
Clubface accounts are for people 13 and older. If we learn an account belongs to a child under 13, we delete it and its videos, training copies included. A parent or guardian can film their child’s swings and keep or post them from their own account, and decides who sees them, as with any post. If someone posted your child without your OK, report the post and we’ll take it down.
This website
getclubface.com sets no cookies, has no ads, and asks for nothing. Fonts and pictures come from the site itself. Cloudflare, which hosts it, keeps the usual request logs (such as your IP address and browser) to keep the site running and safe, and counts visits for us with Cloudflare Web Analytics: which pages are read, where visitors came from and how quickly pages load. It uses no cookies and doesn’t follow you to other sites.
Changes
We’ll post changes here, with the date at the top. If what we keep or who sees it changes, the app will tell you before it happens.
